Technician (turner and miller) for metalworking | Test Lab Ghent In our various high-tech test labs in Belgium, materials, components and product samples (including adhesives, composites, plastics, 3D prints, metals and coatings) are tested using descriptive, destructive and non-destructive tests. This allows us to find out where the limits of the (end) products lie and to provide our customers with a comprehensive report and customised advice. We are currently looking for a technician, or in other words, a heavy metal freak for our test lab in Ghent! Are you technically trained and interested in machining and metalworking? Do you like to roll up your sleeves, work according to a certain routine and are you driven to respond quickly so that you can meet the weekly delivery deadlines? Do you like working autonomously, but also enjoy being part of a small, close-knit team in which you are an indispensable link? Then you might be the new colleague we are looking for! Your tasks: As a technician, you will prepare test samples/samples on which mechanical and chemical tests will be performed by your colleagues. You will be responsible for the mechanical processing and machining of these test samples. You will read and interpret machining instructions and as a machine operator you will be responsible for setting, programming and operating the machines. You will operate CNC controlled machines mainly turning and milling , but you will also handle the conventional side. You will be keen to learn and gain knowledge to eventually carry out mechanical tests yourself. Your profile: You have completed a technical education, preferably TSO. You have knowledge of conventional turning and milling through experience or training You work accurately and qualitatively with strict adherence to safety instructions You have experience with or knowledge of quality controls You are eager to learn and interested in expanding your knowledge so that you can take on additional tasks Programming of CNC controlled machines is a plus You have basic knowledge of Excel or are willing to learn it You are interested in expanding your computer knowledge so that you can use the machine's own software Experience in metalworking is a plus
